I drove from Watertown, NY to Santa Maria, CA in the same amount of time and then...
 

went north to Portland, and then back to Colorado Springs where the trip ended. The total trip took me 12 days (with a few family realted stops), and I loved it!

Flew into LAX to buy the car in LA. Drove the car down to San Diego to my Uncles place, overheating the whole way (boiled over and added water once.) I knew about the overheating problem before we flew out and had a radiator and thermostat lined up in SD. Didn't end up needing the rad, just a new thermostat.

My Dad and I had a great time on the drive back.
