Default Seat heater wiring diagram assistance please!

Long story, but here's the question. Am I correct the RF seat heater switch controls power to the rear seat heaters? Assuming that's correct, can anyone confirm the RF seat heater switch wiring harness has 2 large power wires vs. the left side having only 1 large power wire? I don't have a manual for the C4 cars, only an old type 44 manual. Thank you!!!

Sorry. Wrong. The rear seat heaters are controlled by two things: 1. Rheostat type controls that sit at the end of the console, accessed in the back seat and 2. weight sensitive contact micro switches under the rear seat. The seat heater controls could be calling for "6" but unless there is enough weight, i.e. a person, to trip the micro switches, no current will flow. Have a look at the harness diagram below to give you a clue (note: The No. 3 connectors are where you plug in the rheostat controls. The microswitches are part of the rear seat and shown as No.6 in the second, lower, diagram).

Must I understand that adding rear seat heating to my late '93 would require me to replace the wiring for the front seats also? It's in my plans to add this someday I simply want to be aware before getting the parts

I am in the same situation. I have purchased heated rear seats and the console end plate with the two rheostat controls as well as a complete front and rear seat heating harness. I am undecided whether I want to do it properly and replace the entire harness (including the front seat connections) or just cut the harness and connect the rear harness to switched power, e.g. terminal 15 on Connector Station 1 under the knee bolster on the drivers side (with an inline fuse) and a good ground. Either way would function equally well with equal safety (not sure what the fuse should be 15 or 20 amp).

the older t44's rears were controlled by the rf switch, as pointed out the c4 got its own rear switches. Easier to put in the full harness if you got it than splicing all that crap, really about the same amount of work either way might as well do it right. It needs the 20 amp fuse, unless you splice it then 15 is plenty. Personally I'de tell the people in the back to wear a coat and quit whinning.
