Your valve cover/coil pack scheme is opposite of mine.

I should be getting my polished coil pack cover any day from Brad, the guy you suggested, and I will be painting or powder coating my valve cover in a wrinkle black to match my NEA aluminum wiring, injector, and air box cover which a4kquattro already powder coated wrinkle black for me.

Last step: All black Samcos.

ya i have all the nea stuff but to be honest it traps heat in really really really badly

pretty much super heating the fuel rail.

Stage-3-Emre 06-22-2005 09:00 PM

If that was important, Audi wouldn't have put the fuel rail inches from the head.

Or are you saying you have studied the molecular properties of gasoline and have concluded that the temperatures it sees from the fuel rails location is adverse to performance when combusted?

Anyways, the fuel rail cover would merely insulate he fuel rail, not "super heat" as you stated since the fuel rail cover itself is not a source of heat and I don't see that as being any sort of a problem since the hood insulates more heat than anything under it..

germantoy 06-22-2005 10:01 PM

no but they didnt put a huge heat sink chunk of metal on top to trap in the heat

Stage-3-Emre 06-22-2005 10:04 PM

Heatsinks take heat away, so are you now agreeing with me?

And now that I think about it, plastic is a better insulator than metal is.

There is no caulk waving, just fact and fiction.
