Suspension rebuild - Parts advice needed
Working on some mechanical repairs before my
Silver 93 UrS4 goes in for bodywork/paint.
Current phase is suspension, I have springs, sway
bars, subframe coming from a 92 UrS4. I'll be
using these parts with new "stock" shocks/struts.
The plan is to replace all subframe bushings, struts, shocks, strut mounts, the junk replacement meyle tie rods (which rusted)
and any other bushings that can effect ride
quality and/or alignment.
My goal is to have the factory ride quality that
a 92 would have had when new.
So far in doing research for parts I have found the following brands, obviously I omited Meyle!
TRW
Febi
Moog
Beck Arnley
Corteco/Freudenberg
Any brands to avoid?
Any brand that is known to be good?
Any one good source to order everything from?
I found the suspension rebuild parts list in the FAQ and DAMn it's long! What parts do I need?
Thanks
Chris

you need to go through KATE and see what you want to replace
compare that to bentley to see what is a one time use bolt and go from there.
if i were you i'd add the steering damper to your list, my subframe and sway bar mounts were all in pretty good shape when i had them out at 148k
so... perhaps just do strut inserts and mount kit, LCA's, tie rod ends. and all associated hardware. i just got moog and TRW stuff from SJM

Here's the list from my front suspension rebuild
Strut inserts - Bilstein Sport
LCA - TRW
Upper strut mount - FEQ
Upper strut bearing - ***
Swaybar bushings - unknown brand
Tie rod ends - Moog
Subframe bushings front - Meyle (couldn't find any other brand)
Subframe bushings rear - FEQ
Engine/Trans mounts - FEQ
Poly front snub mount & bracket - 034
I should have done the steering damper as well and plan to do that soon.
