Intake valves love to pose on your desk.

If you look closley you can see where the intake valves kissed the pistons. And as you can tell only the intake valves contact, the exhaust valves have enough clearance.

Default my 94 was oh so close to that nightmare....

The teeth easily pull off with a plier.

Default I had 4 of those reasons on my old GTI

I had 4 top reasons to change the belt early on my old GTI. took avantage, had the head skimmed, and did ARP headstuds and all-new copper plated exhaust hardware at the same time. stripped 1/3 of the teeth off at 53k original miles, luckily it happened 2 weeks after waterfest and 1 week after a track day, and blew at 800rpm idle. oh well.

My belt looked real good- no cracks, broken teeth, just catastropic failure. Will post pic later.
