Thought I would bring you guys up to speed about the car. I know there have been a few threads about it so I will clear things up.

This was the car in Texas listed on Audifans with the full RS2 buildup, Porsche big red brakes, 18" Avus wheels, Full Stromung Exhaust, Bilstein H&R suspension, FMIC, MTM software, and just about everything else you guys do to upgrade these cars. It also has new brakes front and rear, and all suspension parts are fresh including every bushing on the car has been replaced.

Well I spoke with the kid selling the car and got some history and I decided to go ahead and buy the car. The kid is from Colorado and he went down to Texas to work. While he was down there the car broke down on him. He had the car towed to a repair shop in the area. I guess the shop wanted $400 to tear into the car for the diagnosis, he didn't have the money to pay for it because he lost his job as soon as he got down there. I spoke with the owner of the shop about the car and he verified everything that Jared had told me about the car. So I felt better that the car was legit, the shop owner went over the car for me and confirmed that it had all the work one which was mentioned in the for sale ad. I asked him about the damage and he said that its atleast a headgasket problem, and worst case scenario a cracked head. He offered to do the work there for me since they specialize in European cars but he couldn't give me a fair price to get the job done until after he knew exactly what needed to be done. So I just bought the car and had it shipped from Texas right to my mechanics house in Peoria IL.

Its been sitting for about a month but I finally got the call today to let me know the damage.

Well it wasn't the headgasket, it had a hole in one of the pistons. I don't know much about this stuff but he didn't make it sound like it was that big of a deal. I trust his opinion hes has been a Volkswagon master tech for more then 25 years.

He gave me a list of things I am going to need to get me back down the road, I and was wondering if you guys could help me out with sourcing them.

I need a Piston and rings, 2 rod bolts, a pan gasket, valve grind set, a set of headbolts?

I'll get some beter pics up soon so you guys can see the car. It's actually a pretty slick looking car for the age and according to the owner fast as all get out. I bought this car to drive for my winter car and it will be parked next to my modded E39 M5.
