I may have figured mine out but i am still monitoring it..
Check the strut insert cap to the strut housing. Mine wasn't as tight and I had a few more turns before it tightened up. Now I don't hear the clunk anymore.
might want to give it a try since you said it happened after your struts were installed.

Funny you mention it.....tomorrow I'm devoting my day to finally getting to the bottom of things....
what you mention here is the first thing I'll check. My sound is coming from down under the car so I think it's probably subframe bushings or control arm bushings. I'll get her up on jacks tomorrow and figure it out. Thanks for the suggestion.

Try adjusting the pre-load, 10mm wrench 1/8 of a turn clockwise...
and test each time, you might find an improvement in steering too... it's the middle bolt on the steering rack plate.
