Warning Chime/Buzzer

Since I'll have the instrument cluster out to replace Auto Check bulbs & outside air temp indicator (does not illuminate) thinking about replacing warning buzzer for key-in-ignition/lights-on warning. Has been inoperable for some time, assume its the buzzer unit located on back of cluster at the right end.
In ordering some other parts, Audi parts person helping me could not find this part in ETKA. After doing some research on this Forum found the following part no. for an mid-90's A6;
4A0-919-439. Anyone know if this is correct part no. for my 95.5 S6?

4A0919439 is the separate "gong and warning chime" from the UrS4 (for example) under-dash connector panel (not the instrument cluster).

The UrS6 warning chime is not a separate part, it is soldered to the instrument printed circuit board.

Thanks Dave. So the one I need to deal w/ is the one soldered into the instrument cluster printed circuit bd.?
Found this ( https://www.audiworld.com/forums/sho...2144754&page=2 )on replacing the chime's speaker (see Post #1).Would this bring back the chimes sound?

Out of curiosity what is purpose of 4A0919439 "gong & warning chime"? Does both UrS4/S6 have this?
Also, Bentley indicates a "radio/parking light warning buzzer - J152" (Diagram W90-15) held onto back of instrument cluster by a bracket & located at far right end. Perhaps its only for 1992 w/ trip computer?

That link didn't help. Dead.

This is what I know:

For the UrS4s, Kate shows two warning buzzers on the central connector panel behind the driver's side knee brace. There is 443951307B "Buzzer" and 4A0919439 "gong and warning buzzer", both in relay position 8 (which can't be)(Note: 4A0919439 is an old Audi 100/200 and 80/90 PN but in the C4 diagram below it says it is for "KSA" = Kinddom of Saudi Arabia and ROK = Republic of Korea):

I know at least the 92 spec UrS4 instrument cluster with the trip computer has the 443951307B located on the right end of the instrument cluster, as shown here:

http://12v.org/urs/443951307BBuzzerO...ntCluster1.jpg

http://12v.org/urs/443951307BBuzzerO...ntCluster2.jpg

I got curious about the relay position No.8 on my non-92 spec (no trip computer) 93 UrS4 and discovered that it is totally empty:

On this basis, I assume (guess) that the UrS4s all have their warning buzzers clipped to the back of the their instrument clusters. Anyone with a 94 (or 93) UrS4 that can confirm this?

The UrS6 warning chime/buzzer is not a separate part. It is an integral part of the cluster, soldered onto the printed circuit board, as shown here (the round black item with the perforations and the rainbox ribbon connector):

Thanks Dave. That's kinda weird, I was able to open the link I provided. That post, dated 4/27/07, was authored by DaveInSaltLake and entitled "Fun with soldering iron. aka replacing an A6 IC chime" for his '97 A6. It indicated (w/ pics) the method used to replace the chime's speaker located, per your last pic, on back of instrument cluster printed circuit bd. @ far right end. Basically de-soldering the existing speaker and soldering in a new one (Star Micronics #SAA-30A) in its place.
Was wondering if this would apply/work for my '95.5 UrS6 and whether a new speaker would bring back the chime's sound?

Dave in Salt lake posted up the DIY on another forum today. Should be the same for your 95.5 UrS6 (they are really 96 model year cars)
