So I purchased my 95 S6 Avant last spring and haven't done much with it. It has been garaged most of the winter and I've decided to tackle a few things on it. The previous owner told me it had a stage 1 tune but wasn't sure what or where it was from. I decided to open up the ECU to figure it out and potentially switch it over to 034 Stage 1+ while I'm in there. I did some preliminary searches on Audi\World and Google and I'm coming up short. If it is a similar file to that of 034 I'll just keep it but I can't figure out where they came from.
Any thoughts?? Both start with 1 267... The first photo shows the boost chip and second is fuel.
I am thinking that because the ECU still has the 250 kPa (2.5 Bar) pressure transducer ("MAP" manifold absolute pressure sensor) and the ECU has been socketed, it probably did at one time have "Stage 1" chips. However, it looks like somebody removed those Stage 1 chips and reinstalled the OE chips.
A "Stage 1+" chip set if that is what you ordered from 034 requires a 3.0 Bar (300 kPa) MAP sensor or a VMAP from somebody like Marc S. at EFI Express my preferred vendor for this type of stuff.
Yup! I read in the previous owners records that the person he bought it from advertised the car with the option to purchase with a "stage 1" tune. It sounds like the previous previous owner ended up not selling the car with the tune. Oh well, at least it has been socketed so I don't have to worry about that. I ended up ordering the 034 stage 1+ package, which comes with the VMAP, injectors, wastegate spring, etc.
