Why I Drive an Audi S6

After reading the post about surviving an accident in an Audi, I thought I would share with you guys the reason I drive an S6 today. I'm glad they made it through their accident.

I had a bad accident, before I could afford and Audi, growing up in my 16v GTI...a kin to our Audi's of course. I had a blow-out from fallen rock at 50-60mph hangin a turn on a 2 lane road in the mountains and went off a 50 foot cliff with my buddy...the speed limit was 55...we ripped through some trees and landed down in a river on the passenger side of the car...my door was ripped all the way to the front tire...we both hiked out with only a few scratches, literally...and my chest was sore from the seatbelt...here are a few pics

I truely believe that car saved our lives!!! If we were in a civic we dont make it. Every glass but 1 broke, and went away from the car. We bounced off a rock out-hang upside-down with the sunroof open and I found my hat there upside down where my head would have been the next day. The road was shut down for hours while a boom-truck raised the VW out. It was like a cage for us. Even the bottom of the car is bashed and the seats spread apart. The top of the engine was cracked through the hood.

A concerned/interested coed stayed with me that evening...we talked all night...she's still my girl today...

I've been drivin a German car ever since!!!

Wow! Looks like you got lucky as much as the car saved you. Were you up in these here mountains (Appalachian)? You currently live in CLT?

I am not sure a Civic would do worse nor better in this situation. The Mark2 bodys are far from the best ones around when it comes to accidents...

I would have to disagree with this statement. I have rallied a few different Mk2s for ten years now and have many hard offs and a few rollovers. Due to the strength of the chassis the car was rebuildable every time.

These cars are built like tanks, The reason I drive one is the sence of security that comes with the car. I have owned 11 different cars and the S6 is by far the most solid safe feeling car I have owned. I plan to keep mine till its dust.... that may take a few hundred years tho haha

You can save a lot of cents by having the good sense to drive an S6, since they are such safe cars.

You guys are going to use them all up if you don't take it easy. : > ) I wonder what the surviving count is now? It's got to be less than half the original production, especially in North America.
