WTF?? Trunk Release Pops When Car Is Started!
Hi All! I've been lurking for a while and have gotten some great help here on my '94 S4. I've had the car for almost 4 years, and... I'm in love.
Time to sign in and start contributing, but first I've got a doozie here, hopefully someone's seen this before. Sometime in the last couple weeks I realized that the electric trunk release is being triggered when I turn the ignition to the "on" position. It doesn't happen every time, but it's probably at least 75%. Let's say, "More often than not."
No other electrical gremlins, currently. Just this one. Not sure where to start. I'm thinking I may have to disconnect the the trunk release mechanically because starting the car and then jumping out to re-latch the trunk is getting annoying. Disconnecting it electrically would work too, but I wouldn't be able to monitor the situation.
I pulled out the trunk release button on the glove compartment door and tested it, hoping it was stuck in an "Always on" state, but it wasn't.
Any suggestions before I start tracing wiring diagrams?
