22" Conti or Hankooks?
 

Which OEM 22" tire is better - the Conti Cross Contact LX or the Hankooks?

I have no means to compare. I am very happy with the Hankooks.

have you looked to see if TR or CR has reviewed either tire?

I have the Conti’s all season on my truck. Don’t have any comparison. Both the Cont’s and Hankook’s are made to Audi’s specifications. The Hankook 22 inch tire is new and designed for Audi.

I see the Conti's on the tire rack site, but I cannot find the Hankook's anywhere online, not even the Hankook site. Must be too new.

I hope mine gets delivered with Conti's for this reason. Seems harder to get other than from dealer.

I had the Continentals on my Q5 and Cayenne. My Q8 has the 22" Hancooks. IMO the Hancooks have better grip on dry roads and comparable grip to the Contis in wet and snow. Neither is particularly great off-road, but then these cars are not really intended for that sort of use.

Personally, I'd recommend the Hancooks over the Continentals.

I live in Florida so requested summer tires on mine and it came with Conti Sportcontact 6's. So far they are solid from a steering/roadholding/noise standpoint. I'll probably replace them with some Pirelli Scorpion Verde or Scorpion Zero's after this though as the mileage on them will be terrible.

I upgraded my wheels from the 20s to the year 1 22s. I had to pick tires and couldn’t get much direction. I literally flipped a coin- i got Continentals

Also I’m THRILLED that the wheels aren’t staggered
