I will talk to them but after reading former Audi posts it seems to be designed this way...I just have to make sure I always disengage the dreadful start/stop system. It is truly ridiculous that it can’t be turned off permanently if the owner wants it that way.

There is a feature you can enable with OBD11 if you want to play with this.

That said, I really don't think your car is supposed to behave like this though. The SS system should not turn itself off with the key in the car which bewilders me. I was under the impression the feature I enabled with OBD11 allows the car to run indefinitely with the key NOT in the car as well, but it's worth trying anyways if the dealer ends up telling you everything is working as SOP.

Your observations are correct, the car will auto shut off if you are in the car with the key inside after several minutes, happened in ‘17 Q7 that I traded in and in my ‘19 Q8.
