I have the physical "*" button on the steering wheel of my 2019 Q8 assigned to the garage door opener and it works fine. However, the "*" button does not work until the MMI fires up and all your "favorites" are assigned. This takes several minutes at times. When i leave for work in the morning i use the soft button on the MMI since the MMI is still booting but the "*" button works every time after the MMI boots up.
Is anyone having trouble getting the * button to work with an Overhead Door garage door opener? 2022 Q8
I have a problem with the "*" button constantly forgetting its assigned view from 3D cameras. But this is generally related to the already known problem of partial amnesia of MMI MIB3
The * button does work with the Homelink feature.....but not until the MMI has fully booted up. At least that's the case with early Q8s. Our 2019 MMI takes anywhere from 0 to 45 seconds to boot up (usually the latter) and the * button function won't work until boot up is complete. Same for shutting off the auto stop/start feature. Maybe Audi has sorted that on new models. I've never understood how the boot up time can vary so much.
