DE: No phone apps
 

Hi everyone.

I got my q8 on Friday and can not connect with my phone over android auto (over cable).
checking some YouTube videos I can see that there should be a "Phone apps” button on the display of the MMi.
This is completely missing on mine. Attached is a picture of my menu items.
How do I get the phone apps button?

Happened to my wife’s q7. It’s in transport mode. Go back to dealership and they have to disengage it.

My dealer is telling me to buy the audi smartphone interface. Which is an option.

Hello, i was wondering if you find a solution for it. I have the same issue with my rsq3 sportback 2020, in the beginnig i had the function “phone app” after a couple of months its gone:( so no i dont have Apple CarPlay etc.

There is a second page of icons if you scroll right - you did not paste a picture of the second screen

Hi, also on the second screen the “phone app” “weather” and “news” icons arent there, they just vanished😅. In the beginning when i just had my car brand new they were there and working fine.

I had an issue yesterday where Android Auto just stopped working. The phone would charge when connected to the cable, but the car would not recognize the phone connected. I had to reboot the MMI (hold power button down for more than 10s) and then it started working again. Have you tried rebooting the MMI?

My cars is equipped with bluetooth interface and not smartphone interface
i ordered the licensing kit
hopefully i wont need to reach the rear side of the mmi
