When ordering a q8 in the US, there are two options that seem to have no cost but no real detail what they would be/look like:


Black cloth headliner
Black Alcantara® headliner

Anyone have a clue and how they differ from what comes on the vehicle in the first place?

Cloth is standard. Alcantara (Suede) is a part of the luxury package. Its available in silver or black(more charcoal). We have the silver in our Q7 and the black in the Q8. I prefer the black.

Thanks. Above is the only options I have. Going to configure it without either and see what shows up in the PDF. Unless It is silver standard and if I select Black cloth headliner it will be replaced with black.

Yeah, looks like in the PDF it shows

Headliner: Lunar Silver

Typically a black headliner will match the interior better and look sportier. The silver could also show dirt over time as it comes down along the B-pillars as well. I would change the headliner to black since it’s a no-cost option, unless you have a very light colored interior for some reason.
