Over head lighting on interior
This may be a stupid question but I haven't driven my Q8 at night very often twice to be exact. Went out last night with my wife and was trying to see the lock to open up her door. She says isn't there an overhead light when you open your door? I felt so stupid that I did not have an answer. I would love to hear if I need to turn something on to activate a light or maybe it does not have one?
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Yes page 50 of manual
See photo - you have one button on drivers side in top panel that manually turns the lights on and off. And the button that shows picture car and door on passenger side you toggle permanently on and then lights will turn on with door open.

Thanks for the info. That did it although not a great deal of light but better than it was. I think I need to spend days in that car to go over all that's available. Coming from my 2016 S6 this is far from advanced some good some not so much. I find I need to take my eyes off the road to make adjustments to certain things which to me isn't such a great thing. Maybe It will become second nature after a while.
Thanks Again.

I'm coming from a 2016 S6 as well. It had same button - I think the S6 being smaller made it feel a little more lit in the center column (although I love the Q8 ability to color change all around the vehicle).
As I have become more familiar I'm actually less likely to take eyes off road. I like that the XM stations give you whats playing on full list in the display in front of steering wheel - so I have moved to using the middle for nav and center for radio (opposite the S6 but much more convenient).
The heads up is much better on the Q8 with much more info including speed limit and better directions compared to the S6.
And Apple Car play (which the 2016 didn't have) works very well for hands free stuff.

I tend to agree with your comments. I didn't have an extra 10K for the prestige as it was it was 80K and all the others that had HUD were 90 to 95K and we had just purchased a 2019 X5 for the wife and she has HUD which is really good. I really like her car but mine looks better on the interior.

Yes there have been two software issues in the X5 which the took care of. I like the wat the interior look on the Q8 better than the X5 that being said I still feel that it's easier to move around the controls on the X5.
Yes I was on the fence with the Q8 after my purchase and finally went to have a long chat with the GM. They spent time going over the car in detail this time and he also went the extra mile trying to make me happy about my S6 trade in.. He really was great about it. I feel much happier with the Q8 and will enjoy it.
