It is the cup holder- it's just the assembly that covers it looks funny like that. It's labeled in ETKA as PR code 5C0 which is European spec

OK. Then that’s entirely disappointing that Audi added that to its decontenting list. I’m an A8 customer, but I mentioned to my sales rep yesterday that IF they had built the Q8 around the D5’s interior, then I could have been an SQ8 prospect. The Q8 is nice, but with what I’ve seen regarding its interior decontenting, IMO just not nice enough for what my wife and I expect in what’s supposed to be the top tier Audi SUV. Guess they needed to keep it under a specific price point.

That's actually one of my problems with Audi. Let's say the difference in the EU version and the US version is $5 (Audi's price - could be light or could be generous) - the difference in what looks like a Yugo interior or an upscale luxury vehicle: just upcharge $10. Or a hundred. No one is likely to be swayed to buy or not by a cupholder, but it's an additional irritation that Audi doesn't need to provide to its US customers. Same for the auto-hold button. They seem to be hung up on piddly stuff to save a nickel, when they are actually turning off a whole market that may eventually get fed up. I'm approaching that.

The European cup holder size is smaller hence there is space for a cover and a hinge. That’s why we don’t get the cover.

Would be interesting to see the actual dimensions of both - seems to be a lot of space around the current US cupholders, which are already smaller than any other cupholders I've had in previous cars....

Has anyone purchased the hinged cup holders and attempted to install them? I'm curious about the size of the Euro spec cup holders & the difficulty to install. Thanks!

Ordering this today, thanks! How was the installation done? Are there screw around or is the console pried off?

Are they smaller? They were already pretty small to begin with. I had to go buy a new water bottle because my Camelbak didnt fit correctly

Europrice has these for $240 - how much are you all getting them for?
