Q8 quirks and little known features
Since some of us have been driving the Q8 for a few months now, we are getting to know it better so I though of starting a thread on little quirks and lesser known features of the Q8.
To get things started, here's one: When you start your Q8, you may have noticed that after a few seconds, you hear something that sounds like a washer fluid pump shooting twice... I wasn't sure what it was until today. Looks like the Lidar unit has its own washer system that is hidden behind the Quattro badge on the front grille! https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.aud...8bc6a3aeb1.png |
That's awesome, it'd be cool to catch it in action. I wonder if that's for every trim, I would think so.

Doubtful washer jet is behind Quattro badge. Probably just inside that small notch on the left...just squirts across the top and runs down. FWIW it is probably also heated if you get a chance to check it out in some icey times. |
Was surprised to find mini glove box on the left bit below steering wheel

Garage Door Opener
It takes so long for the Shortcuts to initialize that I am out-of-range by the time I can close the garage door with the steering wheel button after backing out of the garage. Kind of silly!

Assign steering wheel button to something else less time critical. I have it assigned to steering wheel heat. |

It works without delay from the center display |
I didn't notice at first until my wife pointed out that the interior lights on each side change to blue or red as you change the HVAC temp down or up on each side. It was a also a pleasant surprise on the lux package seats that the thigh extension doesn't create a gap like typical manual thigh extensions. Minor details, but always nice touches.
