Q8s at Dealers

Test drove a Q8 today.
IMHO, the Q7 is a better looking car than the Q8 without 1st year package. Also the dual-screen setup makes the interior feel tech-advanced but much less luxurious.

So blank button to the right of rear window heater, and between the parking button and camera button on the lower console screen. I assume these will be populated on EU cars, and left blank in the US. Will be interesting to see what they control for the rest of the world.

The blank on the bottom row is the Audi AI button which we don't get in the US due to government regulations. I have never seen anything to the right of the rear defrost button. In other markets that row is gloss black with capacitive buttons so the blank isn't noticeable.

Did some searching and found a shot (which I can't locate now) where the space to the right of the defrost button appeared to be some sort of traction control icon. It also appears that the auto hill-hold button below the parking brake button is still a dummy on US cars, but functional on European versions. Looks like they do include headlight washers now without the NV package.

This is the one our dealer got in San Diego Fri. The new A8 we got on thurs was feeling a little lonely once everyone’s attention shifted to this thing. This car is beautiful in my opinion. A bit surprised it didn’t have park assist (parallel park) but it did have the sensors installed for it, since the 2019 Q7’s we’ve been getting DO have park assist which I didn’t realize was ever coming. It does have the fancy 3D camera though.

The beige itself looks good. I didn't like a couple of things...there wasn't much (if any) contrast on the leather stitching on the seats (compared to the black and grey interiors). I also didn't like the silver headliner along with the black interior and the beige leather. It seemed like there were too many colors. Not sure if a black headliner is available with the beige, but that would (IMO) really make it an attractive option. I did like that the dash and steering wheel wasn't brown, which is what you get on the Q7.
