their approach is basically what JLR did in their Ranger Rovers which is nothing really new or extraordinary. It does look good and rather seamless but at the same time you need to look down to complete common functions and pretty much everything. The older screen, while uglier was in the drivers FoV due to its height making it less of a distraction. I think they went with this approach with asthetics first function second which isn't necessarily bad.

As someone who has a Velar, Audi's implementation is far better than JLRs.
