I saw an accessory for the q8 for a socket wrench. Does Audi use some kind of proprietary bolt on their tires?

Unless the bolt has a anti thief head, its a standard metric socket size.

There is no picture on Audi's site. Just says "Socket Wrench for Wheel Bolts"

That's just your basic tool for removing lug bolts on the side of the road, comparable to what you'd find in any other car.
