Windshield washer fluid go too fast!!!
Anyone know how to avoid having the q8 automatically clean lower vehicle with fluid every time you turn the ignition on? My car goes through a full can almost every two weeks and I barely use the wipers!!

This is bizarre, there’s another thread on this, I’ve never noticed water spots on the grill really from this and I keep the car pretty clean. I guess they must be there. I also have gone 3k miles and haven’t had to change washer fluid but I’ve only used it maybe 10 times.

Fyi you can disable lidar scanner cleaning in OBD11.
Will wreck your ACC functionality though.

The laser scanner cleaning may be normal but the amount of fluid used is not.
I have had my Q8 since last November and I have filled the fluid exactly twice. True I don't use the windshield washer much, but if it were a normal thing, I would still be running out of fluid.

What the??? Would someone mind elaborating on this? When you turn the car on fluid sprays over the front lower portion of the car? I have ACC on my current, non-Audi car and it doesn't do that. This sounds awful.

To answer your question, this is ONLY FOR LIDAR SCANNERS. Lidar scanners must be able to see the road clearly hence the use of windshield washer fluid. Most cars use radar and thus aren't as finicky.

Bizarre. I have lidar and i’m pretty sure my Q8 doesn’t do this. In the 2 months I’ve owned it I’ve never changed washer fluid although I’ve cleaned the windshield a dozen times. Maybe it’s a Canadian thing or a recent build thing?
