Hey Norp, I like those wheels. Is the 26 offset ok? I am not that familiar as to how much leeway there is. The wheels the dealer had available had an offset of 20

Ok, just got my winter wheels/tires installed. I got replika mags and continental wintercontact 265/50R20. Everything fits and works perfectly. HTH.

Perfect thanks rogueQ8!
Anyone know if 18's will cover the brakes or do we need larger diameter? that is the only dimension i am not 100% sure on now.

I am no mechanics, but there is little room left between the mag and the brakes, so I doubt smaller than 20" will do.

I could not tell. Get their contact info from the website and ask them directly. That would be your best bet. Or ask your favorite mechanic.

I talked to the dealer again yesterday, he was able to reason with me that I don't need to go to 18's especially if I am going to put on snow tires.
Basically his thoughts were that the 21" all season on the Q7 were worthless in our winters: he agreed to that. But he reminded me that the 20" all seasons were not bad on the 17 Q7 or the previous generation.
I guess i was overreacting based upon my horrible experience with the 21" all seasons on the 18 Q7.
I plan to get some 20's with Blizzaks once I am sure of the wheel i want.

Here is my 0,02$. Wheel size is not the most important parameter. Tire size is. Or, actually, the difference between wheel and tire size. You want a tire with enough side wall that you do not need to inflate it to much, so you have "soft" enough a tire to have some traction. 20" will do the job.

I have run on blizzaks for the last 10 years, albeit on different type of vehicule: Honda Odyssey. Excellent tires, probably the best on compact snow/ice. But very soft rubber, so they wear rapidly. I have put Continental WinterContact on my Q8, and feel very comfortable, although I have not yet tried them in real winter condition.

I checked with the parts department at the dealership and this is what they confirmed for the sizing of the OEM 20 wheels. Actually, these were the only wheels I could find (and available locally) that would exactly match the Audi standard ones. 20 offset brings the face of the wheels closer to the brakes and calibres, so you better check to make sure it still leaves enough space, specially in front with the bigger rotors.

Anyways, they are getting fitted on my Q8 as we speak as part of the PDI, as I am taking delivery Wednesday morning. Will let you know if there are any issues!

According to this: https://www.wheel-size.com/size/audi/q8/2019/ , the smallest size wheels you can put on are 20s. However, looks like you can get the Q8 with 265/55R19 in Europe (see: https://www.audi.at/media/Kwc_Basic_...katalog-q8.pdf) but I would not go smaller than 20 on a Q8.
