Thank you for your opinion. Would you say the Ferrari feels primitive or just plain raw?

I had a 360 Spider for nearly 3 years before my R8. All I miss, are the badge and the sound. In a nutshell, I'm glad I had the Ferrari first

As posted on another forum,I am more of a Porsche fan but briefly owned a 360 and currently own an R8.There is no comparison ,forgetting badge snobbery the R8 is vastly superior, factor in useability, running costs (ferraris are amazingly expensive to run) and its a total no brainer, you will also have the car of the moment in the R8.
(I had a 997tt which I sold after driving the R8)

Raw, not primative (to me)...
I do have to agree with firstR8 about several things: 1, the power in the R8 is plenty and 2, the Ferrari is best enjoyed on smooth roads.
A perfect example is again my RS4. Around here we have some outstanding secondary roads that are generally devoid of cars and generally pretty rough. Plus, you never know if you are going to run half a wheel off the pavement when faced with an oncoming car. It is roads like this that the RS4 is unbelievably fun. The thing eats uneven roads in a way that makes you look for bumps in the pavement. The R8 should be even better.
Seen another way, the 360 is a car designed in 1999, and the R8 has a suspension that is on par with Ferrari's 599.

Being an owner is unquestionably an experience.
Don't be fooled by the entry price, though. If you are going to really drive a Ferrari, you are going to pay for it. Just know that going in and you will be fine.

The Ferrari isn't so much "raw" but I'd say it's twitchy.....
I'd say it's primitive because the ride is so poor on anything but smooth, perfect pavement. In the 430, I remember driving across the Golden Gate bridge and having the expansion joints on the bridge really bang through the suspension and steering wheel. It used to be that you needed this direct feedback to have a good handling car. The R8 (and I've heard the 599) have denied the laws of physics and made a compliant ride with taught handling. I won't go into more detail about the interior but there are many websites that discuss the poor fit and finish of the 360 and 430 in detail. I prefer the exhaust note of the R8 as well.

Agreed.
Edgy, twitchy... however you want to describe it. Some say this adds character, and the R8 lacks soul. I guess it just depends.
On interiors, I'll just say the 360 is a world beyond the 355, and it is very focused. But Audi now sets the benchmark for interiors.
