Audi R8 or Ferrari 360? What would you choose?

MAYBE a Fiorano. Otherwise, no way (no offense...
...but I sold mine last year)
I had a 1999 red black GTS 6-speed with factory challenge grill and carbon seats, perfect, less than one year on major. How often do you see that combo?
Not worth near 100k.
and here's a fantastic berlinetta that has been sitting. If I were in the market, this is the car I would buy (speedlines? BBK? documented guides/headers/cats? fantastic.)

355B 68k

Looks like high miles (34K), which accounts for some of the price drop, as does
the less popular colour combo. A nice driver though.
I think most red cars with 20K miles or less and impeccable records are in the $75K range. I do agree with your assesment that $100K is closer to Fiorano territory.

My choice would be a Lambo Gallardo
Until Audi wakes up and has the wisdom to put a V10 engine in the R8 with 500-600HP then I would get one. How can they charge so much and make a near perfect exotic car but put a weak 400HP engine in it? Makes zero sense to me. Heck even a Viper has 600HP and same for the much cheaper Corvette Z06. Stupid Audi cannot get it right the first time. Just like they made the S5 an awesome car but not enough power to compete with the AMG C63 and BMW M3 (414HP).

If the Corvette and Viper are your cup of tea...
they drink 'em up. They are not the same type of car. The R8 with the V8 is plenty fast and a bargain. It is not being compared against anything in its price range.
But you are right, a used Gallardo is an option. You won't find a good '06 for that price though, you will be getting a well-used '04.

MAYBE they are cliche, but NO way an R8 has more class or dignity then a Ferrari
Maybe the R8 has more character, and it def. is the better buy. But, Ferrari is THE classy sports car. Its the car you show upto the country club in.
I love Audi, and the R8 an awesome everyday, high mileage capable, well balanced supercar...but so was the Acura NSX. And I wouldn't be caught dead in one of those. (Well maybe I would if it was free;-)
