pioneers still believe an R-tronic is good enough for their stunning R8...im just left dumbfounded. Seriously, they should have upped the ante even more with a sport differential/ s-tronic. Guess never follow is more or a marketing campaign.

Why pay more
for something that is half the fun? Honestly I've driven these twin clutch gearbox for 6 months and while they are certainly fast and efficient, a proper manual is still way more fun. Driving with the DSG gearbox is like an other auto box. A proper manual maybe slower but I am not getting the R8 to race with anyone. Having fun/driver satisfaction with it is my #1 priority. I spent 90% of the time in the city and I have no complain whatsoever...

Have you driven the car? I have not heard a revew bemoaning the lack of sport diff
And the 6-speed manual is great. R-Tronics are good enough for those who dont want to row their own.
The added development costs for a DSG in the mid-engine platform would have made the car cost much more. Amongst the multitude of reasons why the car lacks DSG why would Audi spend millions developing it to fit in a one-off car? They lead the charge with VW and the TT/A3 as far as mass production and with their halo vehicle, the Veyron. It makes so much more sense to develop it for the B8 A4/S4.
No offense, but its a senseless complaint. And this is coming from a person who drives a DSG equipped car every day and sleeps above an R8 every night.

see thats the thing...they can develop it for the A4...and they know how to fit it from
prior experience with the veyron with a thousand torques....so a million dollar development in the R8??? more like we want to extend the life span of the gallardo architecture with minimal costs. Im sure its a great great car dont get me wrong...but as a HALO car...it should have EVERY SWEET TECHNOLOGY AUDI HAS....oh btw its a forum, you can call me anything you want and I wont be offended...thats what forums are for anyways....unscripted uncensored politically incorrect discussions!
