New to forum - need info on 2011 R8 (V10) cost and maint.

Hello all
Looking at a 2011 with 19k miles for $85k.,
Curious if the price is reasonable. The seller will also have the 55k maint. done at the point of sale.

In general what is the maint. costs for these cars. Are they pretty reliable?
Coming from a 1995 Ferrari F355 which are maint. whores.

thanks,
Mike

Hello,
Im not sure but the price in the USA is pretty much higher then everywhere else,to me seem a bit high for a 2011 im not going to telling you how much i paid mine because i did import it from dubai to Italy.
The cost maintenance is very dependable from the use. On mine i almost do it by myself and having some good mechanics friends one is also from audi available to do it in my garage.
I use it very little like 3000 miles x year so cost wise for me is very little, one thing is if they have got the magnetic ride shocks if you blow one it cost about $2000 for 1 shock other then this the car is simply fantastic i enjoy riding it very much.

All Audi’s are plagued with expensive maintenance. Go to a dealer and get oil, brake (rotors and pads) as well as scheduled maintenance costs with labor. That will give you a good idea. You will need to get a vin number as I’ve found service personal to be less than willing to do any digging to find the part.

Since you owned a Ferrari you already know about being bent over at the service counter. As as a car guy I can tell you the most reliable super cars are Porsche’s. They will deal with higher mileage, daily driving in comfort and will also deliver super car performance. Maintence is not cheap by any means but they are reliable and maintence is not Ferrari Nutty. I’d look for a porsche turbo in that same age / price range and pass on the R8 personally. I find the interior of the R8 to be tight for me at 6’2” and the exterior is nice but not amazing looking to me imho.

Good luck with whatever you decide.
