NEW MEMBER NEEDS SERIOUS HELP GEARBOX MALFUNCTION PLEASE READ
So I just want to start off by saying this is my first post and new R8 owner. I have read plenty of the posts about similar issues however I have a little bid different issue and have had no help from audi or anywhere else. If you know these cars and can help it would be greatly appreciated.
I have a 2009 Audi r8 with r tronic transmission that I just bought. The car drove fine for about 600 miles and now will not go into gear at all, no reverse or forward gears and displays a "gearbox malfunction" warning. A few days before this issue while I was driving the car first slipped into neutral from 2nd gear then shortly after drove fine, another time possibly the same day I was driving then the car would not go into any gears past 4, now a few days later the car has no gears at all.
When the car started having these issues I took to my mechanic where the clutch fluid was low, the car drove better for a day after topping off. The second try to fix I took the car to audi, they charged me $400 to "look" at the car and stated " we have no idea" they would need to pull the rear bumper and look around $1700, then would simply start fixing things as they have no clue, would first start by changing the sensors and wire harness ( gear detection sensor part #086987333b (this part number is not correct but close) and harness 420971164 for an additional $1500, then if that didnt work a new clutch and if that didnt work a new gearbox. I dont mind spending the money at this point but im not going to just throw darts and start fixing things that are not an issue. So I towed the car back to my local tech, we pulled the bumper and replaced the said sensors and harnesses but still no gears at all
I have read the other posts on this issue but none of them talk about a car that will not go into gear at all and these cars are unseen around my area so none of the audi dealerships have any clue on how to fix.
If someone is a tech or has had this issues I would be forever indebted to you. All help is appreciated at this point.

Step one for you should be to pull vcds logs and see what they tell you - or just post them here.
Without basic info such as that, it's all just guess work and throwing parts and money at the problem.

Are the vcds logs just the basic codes shown on the scanner. Sorry to be so ignorant but I'm going to tell my tech exactly what you need and post here in the Monday morning.

No they are not... They are a complete data dump of all the issues related to the car and also there are additional ones specific to the tranny... If your tech is 1/2 way competent he should have a ross-tech cable and be well versed in what's required.

So my tech sent me the codes
P172E shift actuator mechinical malfunction
P060A iternal control module procesor performance.
Hope this helps, sorry for not posting from beginning

These are generic OBD codes which were not pulled via a Ross-Tech VCDS cable or any real Audi diag. Get yourself a REAL data pull vs. what you've posted here, since it's essentially garbage and doesn't help much.
