Default 06 A6 battery dies, no display, no radio etc

I had a battery die and after a week, I changed it but comes on. I checked all fuses. Called Audi today they said Battery management needs to be reset and something about fiber optics etc.. they want .30 to .60 minutes to hook up and test reset.

Does this sound right? Is there anything I can do without bringing it in?

Almost, they test fiber optics and modules, if one component does not go to *sleep* after car is locked, they can find the problem.

If you have a friend who will help you out, with vcds or similar, then it can be checked without dealer.

Is anything staying on when you take the key out? Lights, cluster, ac, radio, etc? Sounds like a relay coil is stuck and something is drawing power when it shouldn't be.
