06 A8 MMI interface control module
hello. i have a 2008 A8 with a bad or corrupted MMI interface module according to the dealer part number 4E0035729-4E0910731B 119.
So i need a new module, i don't want to buy a new one because of the price tag, with that been said i can buy a used one an have the dealer code the module an all which is a no big deal, my question is will i be able to plug in the used module an see some kind of life on the system even if nothing works? just so i can tell the new/used module is working , i know that i still have to take in to get it code. but i just wanna know i am taking a good module to dealer so i don't waste my time an theirs.

I hope this helps someone who is in the same position i was, trying to figure out how to tell if i bought a good module.
i did a lot of part number research i was able to find the same part number almost down to the the last digit even do yes they where no exact the same on some of the number of the sticker, but as far as part number an all goes they were identical, i had read that the module would have need to be program.
so i got the new module (MMI INTERFACE BOX) (THE ONE BEHIND GLOVE BOX COMPARTMENT) hook the connections to it an give it go an an everything is back to normal i did not get a chance to mess with all the things on it but as far the radio, navi an the rest all seem to work just like before. so i am no sure if everyone of this modules need to be code after replacement if so then what is the reason? if any one knows pls let me know.
so in conclusion if your mmi interface control box is bad an you get a replacement used/new one i am proof that once you plug it in you should see your system power right up, that if you don't have other modules that are bad. in my case it was only the main interface box so i hope this gives some help to someone who is or might be stock in the same place i was stock on.

Well.. Component protection should kick in.. Mmi interface is one of the modules with protection.
Have a slight recollection that mine also worked for a while before protection kicked in.
Cheers /H
