I had the normal water on the amp issue so I replaced the amplifier from another q7. The unit was in CP component protection. Audi had the vehicle anyway for a recall so we had them program the radio. Well then they called and said that the MMi control unit was going bad and was turning on and off. They said the part was $3000. well i looked it up and found a video on youtube that the guy bought the new board on ebay and swapped it in 20 min and the part was only $60. well i ordered the part and it arrived today. I replaced the MMI control today and the radio is still having issues while on am/fm its staticky and cuts out a lot. On CD it sounds better and normal but then the screen will come up with

I am completely stumped I took the car to a friend who uses vagcom and he ran a test and everything was fine. He did a fiber optic loop test and everything passed besides the voice one but no codes. I don't believe I have voice control.

Im wondering could it be a bad ground? Anyone else had this issue?

I'm having similar issues with 2006 Audi A6 where MMI turn on/off by itself. If i disconnect the battery it works fine then acts up again.
I'm thinking a bad MMI?

I have a 2017 A4. Just bought it used. All audio sources were cutting out intermittently shortly after we took it home. Fortunately it occurred for the dealer when I left the car with them. They had to replace the entire MMI. Said it would have been $3500 if not under warranty.
