Always polyfill stuff a sealed box?
 

I'm putting 2 a/d/s/ A12s's in a .88 ft3/sub sealed box. Are you always supposed to put polyfill in it or is it a matter of sound preference? Also, how much should I expect to use for each sub?

To be accurate
 

The fill is added to acoustically enlarge the box to tune it to the driver resonance. Normally, when a box is designed for a driver it is made about 5% small and only enough fill to tune it is used. Also different materials have different effects.

This notion of adding fill to enlarge the box only works up to a point. Past that point the fill begins to dramatically reduce the acoustic size of the enclosure and dramatically limits the drivers freedom of movement above its resonance.

You dont have enough data on the driver listed to determine if the .88 box needs some fill.

I always use at least a bit...
 

Even if an enclosure doesn't need fill I usually line the walls with some to combat midrange artifacts from bouncing around in the enclosure and increasing directionality.
