For a BOSE Concert HU is there one model number to identify it?
I see two model numbers when looking on ebay:
4B0 035 186A
8N0 035 186A
I was able to confirm one person selling the "8N0 035 186A" that theirs was a BOSE model. Does that make the 4B0 model non BOSE?
I am looking to take out the Delta from my 98 A4 and slide in a Concert and I think I need the BOSE to make it tryuly plug and play without the need for a VAGCOM? I have read over 40 threads on this so I hope Im not missing it.
Thx

The head unit supports both - Bose and non-Bose
It's the amps/speakers which make the difference. You can code any recent head unit (Concert/Symphony or newer) either via VAG-COM or via a wire to be Bose or non-Bose.
The 4B0 has a faceplate fitting the A6 C5, the 8N0 is TT IIRC. Different faceplates for sure, none may fit the A4 B5 right. You are looking for a unit starting with 8D0 035 186, not sure about the letter at the end but all of them should work.
