Default converting 12 volts to 6 volts for delpi skyfi install?

well i am hardwireing the delphi and i want to know how to take the cars 12v and convert it to 6 volts does anyone know what to do or where to look? Thanks

Default When I had my Delphi Unit in my car, I just tore apart the cigarette lighter adapter, and used it

to hardwire to my car...

I don't really wanna do that since there is a chance it could come unpluged and that woud be a pain

Default if you can solder a few components, do this...

the trim pot will give you variable voltage from +12V in.
If you are using this for close to the 1 amp or 1.5 amp draw, the metal tab on the LM317 will get HOT!

PS-you don't need the components that are dashed.
Rat-Shack has all the parts.
