FYI.
There is a firmware update available, from your dealer, that does a couple of things:
1. It updates the navigation map to the most current (I believe early 2018 map).
2. It increases the speed of the MMI system (faster boot-up, faster switching between programs).

Of course, there is a cost to it... about $300.00
And it takes a few hours of dealership labor to install.

I paid the 300 bucks for the update, but haggled with my local dealer, and go them to install it for free (even though it took them almost 3 hours).

Definitely worth inquiring about. The map update is worth it!

My mmi was updated by dealer but maps haven't changed
if there's a link to the files that I can do it myself it would be greatly appreciated
