There is no backup capability. The best way is to not store any addresses in the MMI itself, but rather store them in your phone, so they sync to whatever car you are in. Or use online destinations and store up to 50 addresses in your myAudi account, Combined with today's cloud services the addresses will be backed up and synced to all your devices and available via Bluetooth.

Actually, never mind, I completely forgot that there is an export function. The contacts in the directory can be exported in the vCard format (.vcf) to an SD Card or USB storage device. The howto should be described in your owner's manual. Not sure what generation MMI system you have.
