Default Installing DAB+ with original RNS-D player in Audi A8 D2

Hi All.

Hoping to get some good tips on how to proceed.

As some may know (that means probably no-one) Norway has opted to replace all FM-transmissions with DAB+ broadcasts, as such by the end of the year all FM radio towers will be turned off (except small local radio stations).

For some of us that drive 40.000km per year, in one of the wierdest shaped countries in the world that means we need an alternative when there is no mobile coverage in the area and we need some music to keep us going.

I own a 2000 Audi A8L with RNS-D, which I genuinely love for its original feel and the Navigation is good enough for me!
Now.. I want to fit a DAB+ reciever in my car, these work by the basic principal that the DAB+ reciever by default gets a DAB+ signal from some external antenna (the default one is one installed in the front window with a small metal strip to glue to the framework for ground, this solution however is esthetically displeasing and getting behind the pillar covers is a pain in my experience.. and without ground the antenna is useless..)

As such, enter the DAB+ splitter adapter, which connects to a cars existing FM antenna and picks up DAB+ signals and FM signals and splits those out to two different outputs, this is all dandy and fine.. and works wonders if I use a random antenna I have lying around, however.. not when I connect to the standard antenna of the A8..

My setup basically looks like this :

Audi A8 rear (non motorized antenna) of the same design as this :

Where \ how this antenna is connected to the front of the car I do not know, that is where the core of the issue lies, I do however also have a TV tuner in my car, and as far as I know the antenna for the TV signal is 6 antennas in the rear window, right ?

Does the radio antenna connect through some kind of antenna frequency splitter ? (I do not quite understand what the diversity bit actually does) is that the core of my issue perhaps ?

From the antenna cable that comes to the front of the car (which is the male variant in this picture) :

I use an adapter to make that into this kind of adapter :

Which again connects into this :

Which again connects the male adapter in that end to an adapter of this kind : https://is.alicdn.com/img/pb/192/230...r1_6966097.jpg

(wow that is a lot of adapters....)

That works fine, no problems, great reception with a random whip antenna connected and just laying in my driveway..

When I connect to the integrated antenna of the A8 I get no FM signal at all, and no DAB signal at all.. so I suspect something fishy is going on..

I cannot find any kind of cabling diagram for the FM or diversity antenna of the A8, so I am kinda stuck unless someone knows how this magic works.

Any replies are greatly appreciated!
