iPod integration for 2007 RS4

Can anyone tell me if the Dice Electronics "i-Audi/VW_SAT" installation kit supports text for song title, artist, etc on the Nav screen in a 2007 RS4.

Their website seems to imply it does, since it specifically notes the "i-Audi-R" kit (the one for non-Sat Nav equipped Audis) does NOT support text.

Tried searching archives but didn't see anything definitive on this.

Thanks in advance. Alan

Use the mObridge piece

best Ipod support I've seen so far for the Audi nav system.

http://www.mobridgeinc.com/vehicles/audi</a

where are you located?

I'm assuming Bellevue, WA?

I'm looking to get a mObridge piece in the hands of one of my retailers. If you'd like I'll sell you the unit at cost if you let one of my local retailers install it and get their hands on the piece.

Take your pick of shops.

This is only for MOST based Audis, isn't it?

Information available is confusing

Any adapter connected to the CDC input only cannot display text. Any adapter that would be able to display text would need to be connected to the CAN network and emulate a SAT receiver. No such thing exists on the market today.

Dice seems to be the only one for now that mentions USB charging for the current iPod/iPhone generation is supported. All the other manufacturers only support firewire charging which doesn't work with the iPhone 3G, iPod touch 2G and Nano 4G.

This post confirms that only the Dice FMRDS adapter will display text on the Audi head unit.

The VW/Audi install manual available from Dice at http://www.diceelectronics.com/support/files/audi_vw_dice.pdf refers to a SAT integration kit that has a CAN connection. Such a solution would replace the SAT receiver but could display text on the head unit. However, it doesn't seem that Dice is selling the SAT integration kit yet. This post also confirms that the SAT integration kit is not available yet.

Yes, Bellevue, WA. Thanks for the offer, I have some questions

but the first very basic one is I checked the application guide on mObridge's website and it only shows A4/S4 for 2008 model year forward and no application at all for RS4. Am I missing something?

Paul, do work for mObridge, or what's your interest here in enabling a retailer to get their hands on the unit/install? Thanks.

stadtjunge 01-03-2009 12:32 PM

I'd imagine the A4/S4 nav/stereo system is the same they'd put in the RS4

I am a local area representative for the mObridge product. Retailers such as Benchmark and System's Unlimited in Bellevue, and Car Stereo Plus in Lynnwood, have all shown a lot of interest in the piece. They all want to play with it to compare to what is currently available.

Correct, but the original question was about the 2007 RS4
