Nav+ RNS-E: (DVD, MP3 version): Found this plug/play cable

This question seems to come up quite a bit...so I thought I post some additional info on the subject.
Many of you have seen these Nav+ units for sale on Ebay for $1-$2K....but there is still alot of unanswered questions about how to hook it up (and I still am not aware of anyone that has successfully done the install). Anyway, this is a picture of what the plug/play harness would look like. I believe some folks in germany are selling these harnesses with the unit. Not sure. If you have further questions, just search the audio forum for more details on what the RNS-E looks like. Enjoy! -ted

http://shop.kufatec.de/product_info.php/products_id/103</a

|
I believe this device will "trick" the CANbus speed signal. Dietz 1280 device...

Again...this is all new territory to most of us....and I haven't heard of anyone who has used this device before. Also, this device is specifically sold for the intent of using a reverse camera.
ATTENTION: With an activated interface 1280 it is not possible to navigate with RNS-E at the same time. FYI - It looks like they sell them on ebay.de for 199 Euros. Per Bryn Fourney: Looks like it's designed to strip the GALA signal from the CAN bus so video can be displayed while in motion mainly for using a back up camera, but looks like it could be setup however you need. For activating the TV stand by of the picture while driving, the purple wire from 1280 has to be connected with the signal for back up light. A voltage of +12V at the purple wire activates the interface and makes it possible to view the picture of a for e.g rear view camera on the navigation screen while moving. For an automation of switching, the interface delivers a signal of +5V (I max. 30mA) at the orange wire, as long as the reverse gear is laid in. This signal can be used as a remote signal.

http://www.audiotechnik-dietz.de/documents/1280anl.pdf</a

|
