Default Radio Removal Tools

We have a few handfuls of radio keys in stock again. These things fly off the shelves along with the trim removal tools. We also have a nice little video of just how easy it is to pop the radio out. Click here for radio removal keys. The keys make it incredibly easy to remove the radio!

The tools make it alot easier, but I have seen people use small screwdrivers, or coat hangers bent in a U shape. The trick here is to not damage the face of the radio or the clips that hold it in. If you use a coat hanger, bend it in a U shape and insert it until you feel it 'click'. Make sure the ends are the same length (around 3"). When both sides are inserted, gently push the bent end of the hanger sticking out away from each other... this will release the spring clips and the radio will slide out.

I know of other things to finagle the radio out with, but a coat hanger would not fit in the small low profile gaps on modern Audi radios. I've seen aftermarket radios removed with coat hangers or screw drivers but its usually sloppy.

They keys are here to make radio removal easy and without damaging your car!
