Default Tricking the Sym. II into thinking a CDC is connected...

I already know about the adapter from Autotoys.com but honestly I think $80 for a simple adapter is absolutely absurd!

I want to build my own. I already have the pinouts of the radio and my best guess is the radio just needs to see some sort of "sign" that a CDC is connected.

What could this "sign" be? A certain voltage, resistance, what?

I did a search already and I see that this sort of project has been discussed but no one seems to have come up with a final solution other than pay $80 for an adapter.

My wife got me a 10GB Ipod for X-mas and I want to intergrate into the 02 A4. I was also thinking of somehow hacking into the little remote the Ipod comes with and emulating those controls from the Audi radio. Sounds cool but I doubt it would work without some sort of homemade controller/processor. I will probably just mount the Ipod remote somplace and leave the Ipod itself in the armrest.

TIA

Erik

I think someone on the '02 A4 forum made one, but I can't seem to locate the thread.
