Event Notice - Eastern Creek Track Day

DESCRIPTION

Current and prospective members are welcomed to join us for the first time trial event of the year at Eastern Creek International Raceway.
Enjoy an afternoon of High Octane excitement at Eastern Creek International Raceway which will continue into the night!

That's right Motorsport fans, get a taste of night time circuit racing with only your Audi Xenons on hand to cut deep into the darkness as they search for the next apex.

If you thought turn 1 was scary at over 150 km/h during the day - just wait till you do it in the dark!

Learn to drive, control and balance your Audi on the limit on this high speed, smooth, flowing circuit with German engineered precision - just like Brad Jones. Or better yet give the car keys to the special woman in your life so she too can learn to drive with the precision and speed of Mich?le Mouton.

As this is a time trial/practice day, open to the public and private tuning companies alike, no passengers are permitted however, professional racing and Motorsport coaches from the Driving Solutions Team will be on hand all day to help you fine tune and enhance your current skills shaving seconds from your times with each lap.

You are guaranteed to learn new invaluable skills in a safe, controlled, marshalled environment becoming smoother, more controlled and faster with every passing lap.

This is a Club Audi NSW supplementary enthusiast event. Enthusiast Events are attended by some club members but are not official club events and therefore will not be formally organised by Club Audi.

This event will be solely organised by Narada Kuhmar and the Team from our sister club - Circuit Club . Club Audi NSW is proud to associate it self with Australia's premier entry level circuit and Motorsport specific club.

DATE

* Friday 26th January 2007

SCHEDULE / ITINERARY

* 16:30 | Meet and Driver Briefing | Pick your pit garage, unload your gear and grab a coffee while catching up and talking shop with fellow members before signing in at the control room.

* 16:45 | Kick the Tyres and Light the Fires | Start your engines and head out on to the circuit with your fellow racers for an in depth corner to corner breakdown and briefing with the Driving Solutions Team - if you are new to this circuit this invaluable knowledge will ensure you keep your Audi clipping every apex as if it was on rails and away from those at times magnetic concrete walls.

Time Trial - Eastern Creek in the Dark

If you like the smell of smouldering brakes, burning tyres, unburnt high octane racing fuel and the sweet sound of an engine spinning at 6000 plus rpm as it screams down the main straight - you should have been at the race track with Club Audi NSW and Circuit Club for the not only the first Time Trail event for 2007, but also the first ever twilight event as competitors raced into the night.

Motorsport fans celebrated Australia day with an afternoon of high octane filled, action packed excitement at Eastern Creek International Raceway which continued well into the night, giving most competitors their first ever taste of pitch black, night time circuit racing.

<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/79642/pic00263.jpg">

With competitors split into two groups, unmodified vehicles and first time circuit racers (modified and unmodified) in one, with modified and circuit spec vehicles in the other, there was so much high speed passing you could be mistaken for thinking competitors were racing for sheep stations and gold mines.

An array of professional drivers from the Driving Solutions Team, all with a diverse range of Motorsport backgrounds, were on hand all afternoon offering advice and mentoring for drivers, not to forget cutting seconds from their lap times and improving their overall driving techniques.

<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/79642/pic00276.jpg">

For the Audi fans, the four rings of German perfection were honourably represented by one lone boy racer known only as - Hampster. Piloting a completely standard 1557kg (and we did check the Audi vehicle sticker) 110kw B6 Series A4 Quattro to a blistering time of 2:10:9100!

Narrowly behind much more powerful semi slick wearing cars like a Subaru WRX (-0:00:7) and a Toyota Supra (-0:00:75), however also ahead of much faster modified pieces of metal such as a Porsche 911 GT2 (+0:01:06), Nissan GTS-T (+0:02:23) and a Honda Integra Type S (+0:03:14)

<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/79642/pic00259.jpg">

Have you ever wanted to drive your car on a real race track at real racing speeds? Do you want to learn how to drive your Audi at the speeds it was designed for in a safe, controlled, marshalled, police radar free environment by some of Australia's leading Motorsport drivers/coaches?

It is a lot easier (and cheaper) than you might think, so keep an eye on the Club Audi NSW action packed 2007 calendar or contact our event secretary Marc, at Marc@ClubAudiNSW.org.<ul><li><a href="http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results.cgi?26/01/2007.EAST.S3">http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results.cgi?26/01/2007.EAST.S3</a</li></ul>
