Eastern Creek Open Track Day Report
Where in the world can you pay $250 to have an entire world class International Circuit to yourself?
Where can you also receive an in depth circuit tuition covering every apex, racing line and braking point on that course?
Where can you receive the technical support from one of Sydney's most prestigious and well known tunning houses for German marques?
Where can you employ the services of professional Motorsport photographers?
Where can you have your Audi meticulously detailed afterwards by VIP Car Detailers?
You will find all this and more at an Eastern Creek Open Track Day! World class circuit with world class facilities with staff to match.
For first timers to the circuit, you are driven around the course to inspect all apex points, surface conditions, off camber corners, braking and racing lines (conveniently marked with big bright orange witches hats).
You then have one of the track day coordinators ride shot gun to examine your driving lines and provide invaluable feedback equipping you with the knowledge you need to drive safely, yet set a pace so fast at times the world blurs as you dive into the corners faster and faster each consecutive lap, extracting the most from you finely tuned and over engineered German machine, and the most from yourself without ever venturing onto the grass, the kitty litter, and the unforgiving concrete walls which lie waiting to catch and crush you should you stay from the ideal path.
Dr Milan from TCCA Motorsport and his team were on site (and will be for all events this year) to provide you with full mechanical support. TCCA Motorsport was always on hand, providing everything from tyre pressure monitoring to diagnostic checks to a full service if you wanted one. The TCCA team were also happy to assist anyone looking to extract a little more from their vehicle fielding enquires thick and fast all day especially since their VW Golf Diesel could not be caught, that's right a diesel!
Dr Milan was also on hand to provide additional circuit hints and tips as well as a white knuckle tour of Eastern Creeks International Circuit in the MTM Tuned Golf Diesel attacking the corners and driving like Walter Rohl and Mattias Ekstrom.
Then it is time to kick the tyres and light the fires, fly solo and push the go pedal deep into the fire wall - this circuit is fast, white knuckle fast, smooth and fluid with only two heavy braking corners which will have your car standing on its nose!
Audi enthusiasts were out in force setting a blistering pace much to the shock and bemusement of others, who continually found them with high beams flashing in their revision mirrors - go the Quattro boys!
"...what the hell in those things...what do you mean their standard...it sounds like a Boeing 747 at full noise...how old are the 90 series Audi..."
As a testament to German engineering all Audi performed faultlessly all day even in 30 deg heat which unfortunately proved too much for some lesser marques including but not limited to a brand new 2.5T Subaru WRX which left the track on a tow truck.
JPM Photographics (www.jpmphoto.com.au), Eastern Creeks in house photography service, were busier than a photographer at fashion week capturing all the action at all the corners all day - thanks James.
VIP Car Care (www.vipcarcare.com) were also on hand to make your pride and joy sparkle like the day you picked it up from the dealership - just the thing your car deserves after a day of fierce circuit battles.
