Trailer power adaptor 7 pin flat to 13 pin EU round
 

Hi

I did a lot of research on this forum and others to find a converter from the 13 pin round EU connector to Australian 7 pin flat connector.

I installed with a Westfalia towbar I bought from the UK for my 2006 Audi A8 4.2 TDI. It was all successful thanks to posts on this forum and a few google searches.

Thre are 2 places you can buy adaptors. I discovered my local Audi dealer had them after I had taken the car to them to get the codes reset on the computer post installation of the towbar and Westaflia integrated electrics. The dealer had offered to install the Westfalia bar with all sorts of threats about non compliance to Australian Design rules etc for $4500. I almost fell off my chair laughing at the price.

Hey bwtas.

I took delivery of a 2011 Q7 yesterday. I bought the car to tow my boat. It had the Audi version of this adaptor with it.

I have a RedArc Pro electric brake controller to fit but have been told I will also have to install a towing interface as well to stop the trailer LED lights from interfering with the Audi system. Have you had any experience with these and if so, any recommendations on model or spec to use?
