Default visiting Sunshine coast in Sept, rental car question...

The Mrs and I are flying to BNE from LAX and spending a few days near Noosa and then a few days in Gold Coast. I reserved a car thru Hertz and specified a car with navigation. The only option was a fullsize car (Falcon). I tried Avis and the only option with navigation is also fullsize (Commodore). Is navigation not common in smaller rental cars in Australia? While I like the idea of sampling some RWD Aussie metal, I wouldn't mind something a little more fuel efficient... I'd rather spend the money on food and entertainment.

Related question - are the highways around Brisbane/lower Queensland free? Are there any toll roads I should be aware?

And lastly but most importantly, does Queensland have speed cameras like they do in NSW and Victoria?
