Default Video: Winter detailing tips!

Hi guys,

I hate winter. LOL. But that's no excuse to stop taking care of our cars. Not everyone has the option to wash their cars in their heated garage like me, so I thought I'd come up with some tips and tricks for winter detailing while we wait for the spring to arrive which will allow us to do the traditional full blown detailing routines.

Enjoy the video!

I thought everyone has a heated garage, and a heated driveway to keep the snow and ice off.

I don't have a heated garage, but the neighbors think I have a heated driveway.....but really, I have a serious shoveling addiction: no one can drive on it until I shovel Only use shovels as a snowblower would leave wheel tracks

And yes Pan, I use Optimum No Rinse in two buckets. It's the best. Have been able to use in the garage in the low 20s. Heat from engine block and little insignificant $15 space heater is enough.
Notice the sharp corners. Yes, you could eat off it!

Clean car on a clean driveway (sun helps melt what the shovel leaves behind).

Not heated, but some of the neighbors believe that it is Really, it's addictive. Plus, no one bothers me when I am out there.

While we see several days/winter below 0 Fahrenheit, only every so many years do we go below -10 Fahrenheit. I think -20 is the coldest in a long time. (-22 F = - 30 Celsius for those not wanting to convert)

BTW Pan --- your videos are great! I am usually overwhelmed by the number of products you use, but I suppose in your line of work you need to use different products for different purposes to stay ahead of the game. (Just as I have shovels of 3 different widths to satisfy my addiction.) For the average clean car compulsive person I use:
  • Wash: Optimum No Rinse most of the time; regular Optimum car wash when filthy
  • WIndows: Invisible Glass
  • Wheel cleaner: Sonax
  • Rail dust: Iron X periodically (particularly on wife's white car)
  • Microfiber: Cobra Supreme Guzzler
  • Interior Windows: Rag Company glass/window towel
  • Tires: I've given up, this is a PIA...it seems that most water based products somehow end up on wheels as a film. may try Pledge as someone here on the forum suggested
