for water spots / bird droppings/ misc. dirt....

I picked up some of the Meguirs Detailing spray.
After you clean the 'offending spot' off, you have to rub the stuff off, quit hard actually.

is there something simple, that doesn't leave a film, that can clean misc. stuff off your paint, without cleaning off the wax ?

I stfa, but didn't come up with anything.

I just keep a bottle

of premixed car wash in a spray bottle in my trunk to hit an offending bird dropping(s) off. just soaking it and dabbing it off.

I avoid using detailing sprays of any kind on a "dirty car" to brighten it up. I use quick detailers after a wash when I am not waxing just for fun and additional shine.

If you want to keep doing what youre doing, maybe you can try to dilute your mixture with water so you dont have to buff/rub so hard. With detailing sprays, less is more. Good luck.

Tony.

I keep a spray bottle of distilled water in the trunk.

I can usually spray most of the offending poop off of the car and the theory is since it won't water spot as easily.

I have Zaino Z6 quick detailer in all my cars. Works great!

It's called washing your car and drying off with a drying blade.
