Any thoughts! Stoptech or Porsche brakes for a B5 S4??

I'm trying to decide on a Big Brake Kit. I've got a chipped B5 S4 w/ Bilstein pss9 suspension. I'm leaning towards the Stoptech 332mm kit or the Porsche 993TT kit that ECS tuning sells. The car will see track time w/ club racing events. Any thoughts on a brake setup. I'm trying to order something ASAP...I haven't been able to locate anything used.

ASAP? good luck getting anything from StopTech. I never trusted that company and after trying to

deal with them to get some rotors, I'll never deal with them again by choice. They were also bought out by Centric a couple years ago. Anyway, I would not trust the products from a shady company that does not operate professionally and bites other people's products, especially for components as important as brakes. The Porsche brakes should be re-badged Brembos and that's all good.

If you want something a little better, look into the Stasis (Alcon) setups and if you want something serious, Brembo GTR's or Alcon racing brake systems...

Have other people had bad luck w/ Stoptech? It seems that their dealer network is fine as far as supplying replacement rotors/hats,etc.

I've liked my ST 332s on track.

I'd also recommend going with a rear track pad too if you're using track pads up front.

Try Zeckhaussen racing, he usually has stuff in stock.

weird. i have never had any issues getting parts (bolts, rotors, hats,) They have always been

excellent to deal with. Personally i would highly recommend the stoptech product and their support group has been great!

took them over a week to attempt to send rotors that were supposed to arrive same day.

I had pads on order from them as well that took two weeks to arrive (also supposed to arrive same day) and to make it all even better, they sent the wrong pads...

My vote is for ECS and their pricing is good. Porsche system better than Stop's

Your saying a brake setup designed for a rear engine car is better than a stoptech setup designed

and balanced for the front engine S4? interesting...

Brake bias w/ charts on Porsche setup vs Stoptech setup on S4

Doesn't surprise me.

- Volume
- Engineering expertise
- Liability and experience

major manufacturers aren;'t as dumb as the aftermarket likes to suggest.

I dont mean to suggest Stoptech is not a quality outfit.
