Default Spongy pedal after Hawk Ceramic and ECS Slotted Rotors

Help!

I just changed out my OEM rotors/pads to a setup of ECS slotted rotors and Hawk Ceramic pads front/rear. I've gone through 3 complete bedding cycles and I can't even come close to approaching the stopping power of my OEM pads (probably 50% worse, at least, from 60mph).
Pedal feels very mushy and I can't even seem to get enough friction to fire off the ABS with when stomping on it.

Went back to the installer (Bavarian Motorwerks in Kennett Square) and said that I believed the setup needed to be bled. The contacted someone (?) at Hawk who apparently said it will take at least 2000 miles for this setup to reach full potential.

Huh?

Anyone else have this setup and complaint?

If this is the performance I can expect, it sucks - I'll switch back to another pad setup and deal with the dust. It's borderline dangerous.

Thanks for the guidance/help.

Cheers,

TMK

BTW - I'll cross post, but if someone is in Eastern PA and wants a set of lightly used A4 B7 rotors (20K miles on them) and stock pads let me know, you can have them (although I might need the pads! ;-)

Default Regardless, if its spongy, you have air somewhere (or something's not rigid)

have you used a pressure bleeder, maybe with manual assist?

Are the pads in square?

Are the calipers fixed or floating/ if flaoting, were the guides cleansed and lubed?

Default just put Hawk Ceramics on the Q7

the pedal has some spongyness but the brakeing performance feels perfect. I am giving the pedal feel a few hundered miles to firm up or I will re-evaluate it at that point. I can chirp the front tires on a hard stop with no problem. It will do multple chirps even once ABS has taken over.
